Sound System

Stock head unit fitted with SONY XM-504X 200W amp feeding Kenwood KFC-651 speakers / Rockford Fosgate Punch P300-12 sub

The main objective for the sound system was to maintain the stock look and feel, yet provide the best sound possible.  To do this, I had to build the entire sound system around the stock head unit.  The results were pretty good.

We ran 6 gauge power directly to the back hatch area where it is split to provide power to the amplifier and the sub.  Amp and sub is receiving high input directly from the stock head unit and outputs are returned to the stock locations using the oem wiring.

Wiring

Wiring and Wire Routing

We ran 6 gauge red and black power cables from the battery to the back hatch area.  At the battery we also installed a 50 amp fuse.

The results are pretty good.  The sub won't rattle the windows of the car next to you like my son wants, but for the classic rock I prefer, it is awesome!

I bought the car new in 1998.  It was driven for about 7 years and then stored in 2005 with 120,000 miles.  Once my son turned 16, we took the car out of storage In May of 2020 and started getting it back to its past glory.  Between 2003-2005 I personally did a lot of upgrades and modifications.  These upgrades were always done to keep the stock look and feel, yet enhance the near perfect design of the Integra.  On the following pages are my take on these subtle and tasteful upgrades.   I am working with my son on what has been done previously and I am teaching him the use of hand tools, using the internet for research, and continuing the direction I had started back before he was born.  As I have been the sole mechanic on the car, he will be able to continue.
